The idea of NHBYB started in June of 2018 from hearing the needs of parents in our community wanting a developmental,

well organized basketball league for players of all skill levels. What started as wishful thinking resulted in NHBYB forming a Board of Directors and securing all the components needed for NHBYB to remain an association for the future. Thank you to Vince Pollaro, Heidi Marie Scarsella, Joe Amatucci, Shaun Mellinger, and Jason May for taking a chance and making it happen.

2018-2019: We had a successful first season with 152 boys participating during the 2018-2019 season.

2019-2020: In the summer of 2019, with the support of the NH Girls Varsity and JV coaches, we expanded to include a girls league. We now have changed our name to North Hills Youth Basketball (NHYB) Club. We added a few board members to assist us in our growth.

The 2020-2021 season was cancelled due to the pandemic.

2021-2022: We had 10 teams of 3-6 grade girls and 22 teams of 3-6 grade boys for our 2021-22 season! Thank you to our 50+ committed coaches and volunteers who made the season a success. For the first time, we will be saying good bye to some important board members whose players have aged out. We would like to thank Vince Pollaro for his brilliant idea of starting NHBYB, Joe Amatucci for making sure the finances were in order, and Bob Patsilevas for his dedication to the girls in house and travel program. We appreciate all the guidance from Jason May to manage our website and registration. NHYB would not have ever existed without their time and dedication. Good luck guys, you will be greatly missed.

2022-2023: We have 27 teams for the 2022-23 season consisting of 86 girls and 155 boys. Our 60 volunteer coaches, assistants, and board members dedicated their time and talents to our 241 players and made the season the best yet! We are saying goodbye to board member, Nate Wilkinson and thank him for his time devoted to the boys travel program. The Board of Directors is looking for a new President to lead the program. Our current President, Heidi Marie Scarsella, has served since the inception 5 years ago and assisted in the program since 2016. With her children aging out next season, we are looking for the next generation of leaders at NHYB Club.

2023-2024: We had 272 players this season across 29 teams. Our 50 volunteer coaches, assistants, and board members continue to make us NH PROUD. We will be saying good bye to some board members whose players have aged out: NHYB Club would like to thank Mike Geitner who joined the board this year to assist in the Girls Community League. Many thanks goes to Matt Moriconi for serving the board the last 2 seasons as the Vice President. We will also be saying goodbye to Heidi Marie Scarsella who has served as the President on the Board for 6 seasons. We appreciate all of her help through the years with keeping us organized.
